UNEPs Energy Programme addresses the environmental consequences of energy production and use, such as global climate change and local air pollution, and is concerned with renewable energy, energy efficiency, transport, energy finance, and policy issues.

UNEP Risoe Centre on Energy, Climate and Sustainable Development (URC) is a collaborating centre of the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) based at RISO National Laboratory in Denmark.

E+Co is a non-profit energy investment company created by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1994. Having financed more than 115 enterprises in 35 countries (totaling ~ US$ 12 million), E+Co has demonstrated that sustainable and profitable renewable energy enterprises are an effective vehicle for expanding the provision of clean energy services to rural populations.

E+Co Brasil, a subsidiary of E+Co, is located in Salvador, Bahia. The staff of four work to provide enterprise development services to B-REED's pipeline of clean energy enterprises.
